Dear Friends and Family,

I want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity God has presented to me. During February 7-20, 2020, I will be going to Tel Aviv, Israel, and Jerusalem with a team from Illuminate Community Church to work alongside a ministry called The Palestinian Bible Society.

My missionary journey will be focused around serving God by serving others. Our team will assist with several building projects and community outreach programs that are established already in those areas. The objective is to build relationships through sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the Palestinians that reside in Israel. Numerous aspects of this trip will grant me access to a view of the world I am unfamiliar with, with walls that differ strongly from the American society I am so accustomed to. I am from a place where faith in Jesus, and Christianity as a whole is safe to practice and live day to day as a believer. This will not be the case for the majority of individuals I will encounter and interact with on this trip.

Emily Parks

I have felt God directing me to go to the Middle East for missions for the last couple of years. As I read scripture and serve in the same places Jesus lived and ministered to in the bible stories I have known since I was a little kid, these cross-cultural and biblical experiences will affirm my faith in ways I can only imagine and pray for. When this trip was first mentioned, I immediately asked Pastor Scott, “Where do I sign up?!” and he paused and said “Pray about it before signing up”. So I did pray and then signed up the following day. We had not even had a meeting to discuss the work we would be doing in the Middle East. I was also still unaware at this point where we would be going. I just knew in my spirit that I was supposed to go, and I have since felt God confirm this over and over by words of edification and the immense support received thus far.

I am asking God to show me how I am supposed to be used in building His kingdom and I strongly believe that this trip is a stepping off point for me to grow closer in my walk with God. I have an expectant heart ready to see God move in the lives of these people. I am overjoyed to be a part of this team, the first of many trips I hope to go on with Illuminate Community Church. Through this mission trip, I hope to be a blessing, an encouragement, and a source of love to the people of God in that part of the world.

I’m excited about this learning experience that lies ahead and hope you see the value in it as well. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. I need to raise $3,500 by January 15th, 2020. If you can support me in a financial way, I would be very grateful. While money is important, it comes in a distant second to my need for your prayer support. Since prayer support is so important to the success of this mission, I would like to know if I can count on you in that area. Prayer is what will allow us to be successful as we follow God in ministry in Israel and the Middle East. Without prayer, nothing significant will happen.

Special Projects

By partnering with individuals and nonprofits, Blessing Broker® initiates, oversees, and reports on kingdom investments relative to special projects, short-term and long-term missions in Israel and other nations for children, the working poor, and the underprivileged.
